BOPAS Accreditation

We are excited to announce that the SIBS volumetric building system has been approved by BOPAS in the UK. Donard has worked closely with SIBS to achieve this accreditation, which validates the quality, integrity, and durability of the SIBS system in the UK. With this approval, Donard intends to build up to 2,000 homes per year in the UK and Ireland using the SIBS modular system.

BOPAS is recognised by mortgage lenders and therefore homes with this accreditation will be readily mortgageable for a minimum of 60 years.

About BOPAS

BOPAS is the industry accreditation body of MMC Providers in the UK, providing assurance to lenders, developers, and homeowners as to the integrity and durability of properties accredited under the scheme.

With UK government target of constructing 300,000 homes per annum against a backdrop of increasing construction costs, poor quality conventionally constructed homes and a huge construction skills shortage, the demand for innovative methods of construction is immense.

Build Offsite Property Assurance Scheme (BOPAS) was developed to address concerns and perceived risks associated with innovative construction. Consequently, BOPAS is recognised by mortgage lenders as providing the necessary assurance that properties that are innovatively constructed or constructed using modern methods of construction (MMC) will be readily mortgageable for a minimum of 60 years.
